Luisa Stefani and Gabriela Dabrowski completed their Wuhan campaign with a straight-sets win over Storm Hunter and Katerina Siniakova. The top seeds took Sunday's final, played on October 18, 7-5, 6-4.
The result extended their trophy streak: this was the partnership's sixth title of 2026 and its third in succession, following Sao Paulo and Beijing. They now have eight titles together.
Returns make the difference in the final
Stefani and Dabrowski led 4-1 in the opening set but had to respond as their opponents recovered. A break in the 12th game settled that set. They then broke twice and dropped serve once in the second, completing the final in 92 minutes.
The champions did not lose a set throughout the tournament. After an opening bye, they beat Ulrikke Eikeri and Quinn Gleason, Ingrid Neel and Giuliana Olmos, then Cristina Bucsa and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in the semifinals. Hunter and Siniakova were the third seeds.
Hard-court title and official final highlights
The tournament ran from October 12 to 18 on outdoor hard courts in China. The WTA 1000 doubles draw featured 28 teams.
